Talent Lab turns curiosity into confidence . This time, children became young chefs — measuring, mixing, and decorating their own cakes, practising patience and teamwork, then serving up the results with pride. Our Talent Lab was buzzing with excitement as kids came together for MasterChef WIN — a fun-filled baking and decorating activity that had everyone rolling up their sleeves (and licking spoons)!
Seven teams — Sprinkles, Ganache, Meringue, Frosting, Crumble, Caramel, and Candy — took on the challenge of baking their own chocolate cakes from scratch, right down to whisking the batter, watching it rise in the microwave, and whipping up a glossy chocolate ganache.
But the real magic happened at the decoration table. With sprinkles, flowers, marshmallows, strawberries, raspberries, and fondant on hand, the kids let their imaginations run wild, turning simple cakes into colourful, creative masterpieces. Every table looked completely different, each one a reflection of the young baker's personality and teamwork.
The energy in the room was infectious. Kids were excited from the very first stir of the batter, and that excitement only grew as their cakes came out of the microwave, warm and ready to decorate. Parents joined in too, cheering on their little chefs and lending a helping hand where needed.
Our judges had the joyful (and delicious) task of tasting and reviewing each creation, scoring on taste, creativity, and presentation. But if we're honest, the real winners were announced the moment plates were cleared and cake disappeared in minutes — the best kind of feedback!
Beyond the baking, MasterChef WIN was a wonderful reminder of what Talent Lab is all about: bringing our community together, building confidence, and creating memories — one cupcake at a time.
